The Poland has been intensifying the import of drones and components from Taiwan, seeking to strengthen its defense against the threats from Russia and reduce reliance on Chinese parts.

As of August 2025, the country had acquired almost 60% of Taiwanese drones, totaling $32 million, while the United States had bought only $7 million, according to Bloomberg.

The high demand led Taiwanese manufacturer Ahamani to plan opening a factory in Poland. Foreign companies, including a large South Korean firm, have also shown interest in purchasing non-Chinese engines. Meanwhile, Polish manufacturers such as WB Electronics and Farada Group have been expanding their production and replacing Chinese components with Taiwanese alternatives, ensuring products meet international standards.

The geographical proximity to Ukraine allows Poland to test drones in real combat conditions, further consolidating the country as a strategic intermediary in supplying equipment for the conflict. Companies like FlyFocus leverage this position to acquire Taiwanese parts when European components are costly, further strengthening the local defense industry.
